H.H. Sheikh Mohammed appoints Dubai Deputy Rulers

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, has appointed His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as First Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai.

His Highness has been a deputy ruler since 2008 and is currently the United Arab Emirates' finance minister.

Newly appointed to the role of Second Deputy Ruler is His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the chairman of the Dubai Media Council.

Decree No 21 of 2023 annuls Decree No 5 of 2008. The new Decree is effective from its date of issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
