A total of 2,025 prisoners will be released from Dubai's correctional facilities ahead of the 54th Eid Al Etihad.
The order was issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Dubai’s Attorney General, Essam Issa Al-Humaidan, says the pardon reflects Sheikh Mohammed’s commitment to supporting families and giving the released prisoners a chance to rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society.
He added that Dubai Public Prosecution, together with Dubai Police, has already begun the legal procedures to carry out the order.
