Here's why you must update your Emirates ID details with your bank

Residents will stand the risk of having their ATM cards temporarily blocked if they don't update their details by Friday.

It's the designated cut-off day, ahead of the official February 28 deadline given by the UAE Central Bank.

To update your details, you just need to email the bank a copy of your Emirates ID or head to one of the bank's ATM machines or branches.

Ankita Singh, head of content at souqalmal.com, explains.

She also says banks have given their clients several different options to update their Emirates ID details.
