Thunder and lightning is forecast to hit the UAE at the start of next week, coinciding with the return to work after the Eid Al Fitr holiday.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), after a sunny start storms will roll in across the country on Monday afternoon due to a deepening area of low pressure, with hail forecast for some areas.
They will continue throughout Tuesday, with weather.com predicting a cooler day at 25 degrees Celsius, and rainfall amounts in Dubai of up to 50 millimetres.
Winds will also strengthen over Monday and Tuesday, particularly during heavy rain, causing blowing sand and dust, reduced visibility, and possible flying debris.
It will be moderate to rough and very rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
Showers and calmer conditions are forecast for Wednesday.
