The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has introduced the members of its first Dubai Parents Council and first Dubai Educators Council for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The Dubai Parents Council includes 15 Emirati and expatriate parents of students enrolled in private schools, selected from 152 nominations. They will help address shared priorities, strengthen school–family partnerships, and contribute to education policies and initiatives that support student learning and family wellbeing.
Meanwhile, the Dubai Educators Council comprises 15 teachers and education professionals chosen from 160 nominations. They will provide an advisory platform for teachers and education professionals to share evidence-based insights from their classroom and leadership experience. Their contributions will inform policies and programmes, support inclusion across the sector, and help shape initiatives that enhance teacher wellbeing and improve students’ experiences.
The KHDA also approved the second cohort of the Dubai Students Council, bringing together 16 students from Grades 9 to 12 across the Emirate's private schools.
The selected students were chosen from a pool of 131 nominations, where they will serve as a direct bridge between private school students and education decision-makers.
"We see the three councils as platforms for meaningful dialogue, collaboration and collective action, helping us create opportunities that enrich the educational experience of every learner in Dubai," said Dr Amna Almaazmi, CEO of Growth and Human Development at KHDA.
Membership of all three councils runs for one year from the date of official appointment, and all may apply for a second term, subject to performance and continued eligibility.
The KHDA clarified that the positions are voluntary and unpaid.
