Ministry of Labour announces new measures to renew work permits and contracts

An employee’s clear signature will be needed in order to renew a work permit and contract. That’s according to officials at the Ministry of Labour who announced the new rules that will be in effect starting early next year. These measures will take over the current work permit renewal procedures which only require a notification from employers. According to Ministry officials, studies suggest the new rules will help end labour disputes caused by unfair labour contract submissions made by employers who did not get the approval of the labourers themselves.
