A young man who got trapped inside the signboard of a retail store in Dubai had a narrow escape recently.

Authorities said the 19-year-old African national got into trouble while trying to get out of the bathroom window of his first-floor flat, following a dispute with his roommates.

He managed to squeeze his body out of the window, but lost control and fell inside the signage of a shop on the ground floor.

The Naif Police Station, in cooperation with the General Department of Transport & Rescue and the General Directorate of Civil Defence, came to his rescue.

"Upon receiving the emergency call from the shop owner, rescue teams were dispatched to the incident scene and worked professionally to free the young man and transfer him to a hospital for necessary treatment," said Colonel Omar Musa Ashour, Deputy Director of Naif Police Station.
