The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a red alert, warning of fog in large swathes of the UAE on Friday morning.

Abu Dhabi Police, as well as Dubai Police, urged drivers to adhere to the variable speed limits, maintain a safe distance, turn on headlights when visibility is low, and remain alert due to reduced visibility. The Dubai-Abu Dhabi road is particularly foggy. The marked red areas have a visibility of less than 1000 metres.

The country has been experiencing fog, particularly in the mornings, over the last few days, as summer comes to a close. Humid conditions are expected to continue until at least Saturday.
