You could soon get a notification on your phone if there are any food-related diseases doing the rounds.

That's because the UAE's Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has announced plans to launch a new smart early warning system for biological diseases.

It will provide a platform for residents to report cases of disease outbreaks, agricultural pests or food-related incidents.

They say more details will be released about the system in the near future.
