More than 1,300 abandoned vehicles and equipment were removed across Dubai in the first half of 2025.

The effort, led by Dubai Municipality, also saw over 6,100 warning notices issued in residential, commercial and industrial areas to tackle neglected vehicles and maintain the city’s visual appeal.

The campaign aims to protect public health, enhance safety and uphold Dubai’s reputation for urban cleanliness.

Engineer Saeed Abdul Rahim Safar, Director of the Waste Operations Department, says abandoned vehicles are a key concern, and field teams work year-round to clear them from roads, public parking and sandy plots.

So far this year, nearly 78 per cent of reported cases were resolved thanks to public cooperation.

The Municipality is also running awareness campaigns to highlight the impact of neglected vehicles and encourage residents to do their part in maintaining Dubai’s image.

Owners are given between 3 to 15 days to move their vehicles before removal, depending on the condition and location. Impounded cars are taken to Emirates Parking’s yard in Al Awir.

Residents are reminded not to leave vehicles unattended during holidays and are encouraged to use car covers, clean their vehicles regularly, and park in designated areas.
