Public transport plans in place for Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

As many as 2,100 taxis and 55 buses will be designated to ferry crowds to and from Yas Marina Circuit for the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that kicks off today.

That's according to the latest plans set by the Integrated Transport Centre of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi.

Taxis will be allocated to run from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm over the course of the four-day event while others will be managed to serve beforehand and following the after-race concerts.

Buses will serve the Paddock Club’s pit stops and transport users from Yas Mall parking lots, Yas Island hotels and the entertainment zones.

The ITC also confirmed they will provide road service patrols to speed up response to any traffic incidents on Yas Island and the roads leading to it.
