Seven men have been arrested in Dubai for fighting in a public place and damaging property.

Dubai Police took action against the group after a video of the violent brawl went viral.

A criminal case has been registered and the suspects will be referred to the public prosecution for further action.

"The group of African people appeared in a viral video on social media platforms while fighting in a public place and damaging properties," the police said in a statement.

The authority has urged the public to report such negative behaviour through the ‘Police Eye Service’ on the Dubai Police app or by calling the emergency hotline 999.

It also warned people against publishing or forwarding such clips or videos to avoid legal accountability according to article 52 of the UAE Federal Law No 34 of 2021 on countering Rumours and Cybercrimes.

Violators of the law will be punished with at least one year of imprisonment and a fine of not less than AED 100,000.
