Sheikh Abdullah pledges solidarity for Syria during Damascus visit

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, discussed the humanitarian loss from last week's deadly earthquake during talks with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus.

Sheikh Abdullah conveyed messages of condolences from the UAE leaders and pledged renewed support for the people of Syria.

The UAE minister also visited quake-stricken parts of the north-western region and praised the efforts of the "Gallant Knight/2” operation in saving lives.

On his part, the Syrian leader thanked the UAE government for pledging support quickly, and helping in the search and rescue efforts.
