Sheikh Mohammed offers private plane to help cyclone victims

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has offered his private plane to help the victims of Cyclone Idai.

This comes after the UAE pledged AED 18.3 million in emergency aid to those affected by the devastating tropical storm.

In the coming days, the Dubai ruler's B747 will deliver humanitarian assistance to Mozambique.

Cyclone Idai has already claimed hundreds of lives with the death toll expected to rise to over 1,000.
