The mandatory midday summer break for outdoor workers in the UAE concludes today. The directive, which prohibits work in open areas from 12.30pm to 3pm, has been running since June 15. Employers are required to provide shaded rest areas for workers and keep them hydrated, during the period. Teams from the Ministry of Labour have been carrying out field visits to ensure firms comply with the law.
