UAE Attorney-General reminds residents not to share misleading videos

UAE Attorney-General Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi has reminded the public against photographing incident sites or fallen debris from missile interceptions in the country, or sharing AI-generated images and videos, noting that violators face legal action.

In a statement, he added that such footage "undermine the response and mitigation efforts of relevant authorities".

Al Shamsi warned that sharing fabricated clips or scenes created using artificial intelligence or digital manipulation can "incite public panic and create a false impression of the actual situation in the country".

The Attorney-General reiterated that publishing or circulating footage that misleads the public or causes panic is a violation of the law and violators will face "legal action without leniency".

He urged the public to abide by the law and obtain information only from official sources.
