UAE documentary could be nominated for 2016 Oscar Award

A documentary from the UAE could be nominated for an Oscar award. The Tainted Veil, along with 123 other documentaries is now being considered for the documentary feature category at the prestigious awards. The film was co-directed by Emirati filmmaker Nahla Al Fahad, US documentary maker Ovidio Salazar and Syrian director Mazen Al Khayrat. It was produced by Abu Dhabi based film production company Anasy Media. The Academy Awards will announce the short list of nominees in December.
