UAE expresses solidarity with Mexico over fatal bus-train collision

The UAE has expressed solidarity with Mexico over a deadly crash between a freight train and a double-decker bus.

Ten people were killed and 61 others were injured when a bus en route to Mexico City, carrying 50 passengers attempted to cross train tracks to avoid traffic. It is considered one of the most severe accidents to occur as the nation develops its rail system.

The vehicle was torn in half and dragged several feet.

Locals rushed to assist uninjured survivors in escaping the wreckage.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and the government of Mexico, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
