UAE expresses solidarity with Philippines over typhoon victims

The UAE has expressed its solidarity with the Philippines over the victims of Typhoon Rai, which swept through the country's central and southern areas.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has extended its condolences to the Philippines' government and victims’ families.

It also wished the injured a speedy recovery.

More than 300 people have been killed and thousands have been left homeless.

On average about 20 storms and typhoons strike the Philippines each year.
