UAE facilitates US-Russia prisoner swap in Abu Dhabi

The UAE has confirmed it helped facilitate a successful prisoner exchange between the United States and Russia.

One American and one Russian were swapped in Abu Dhabi, with officials from both countries present.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked both governments for the confidence placed in the UAE and for designating Abu Dhabi as the location for the prisoner exchange process.

It also expressed hope that the move will help ease tensions and encourage more dialogue between nations.
