UAE air defences have successfully intercepted 5 ballistic missiles and 35 drones launched from Iran on Wednesday, the Ministry of Defence said.
Since the start of Iran's attacks, the UAE has intercepted 438 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles and 2,012 drones.
These attacks resulted in the deaths of two members of the armed forces and a Moroccan contractor working for the military, as well as nine civilians. It also wounded 190 individuals, with injuries ranging from minor to severe.
The Ministry of Defence reaffirmed that it remains fully prepared and ready to deal with any threats and will firmly confront anything that aims to undermine the security of the country, in a manner that ensures the protection of its sovereignty, security and stability and safeguards its interests and national capabilities.
The ministry also urged the public not to approach, handle, or film any debris or objects resulting from these interceptions, and to leave it to the competent authorities.
