UAE moving fast towards 2031 national goals

WAM

The UAE has already achieved 67 per cent of its national goals under the "We the UAE 2031" vision — with six years still to go.

That’s according to Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, speaking at the UAE Government Annual Meetings in Abu Dhabi.

He said the meetings serve as a national exercise to review performance, set priorities and measure progress toward the country’s long-term vision.

The minister emphasized that the UAE’s success lies not just in past achievements, but in its ability to adapt, innovate and stay ahead in a fast-changing world.

He highlighted the UAE’s strong economic performance, with IMF projections showing 4.8 per cent growth this year, non-oil trade nearing AED 3 trillion and non-oil GDP contribution reaching 77.5 per cent — well on track to hit the 80 per cent target ahead of schedule.

The country also ranked first globally in 264 competitiveness indicators, and fifth in the IMD World Competitiveness Index.

Al Gergawi credited the leadership’s vision for turning challenges into opportunities — from AI adoption to foreign investment — and reaffirmed the UAE’s goal: to be the best country in the world.
