UAE President focuses on boosting ties in letter to Japan PM

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has focused on strengthening bilateral ties with Japan in a letter addressed to the country's Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.

Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and UAE Special Envoy to Japan, handed over the letter to the Japanese leader during a meeting in Tokyo on Monday, the national news agency Wam reported. 

Both sides looked at enhancing relations under the 2022 Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the potential of furthering ties across vital sectors, including economy, trade, energy, space and advanced technology. 

Dr Al Jaber also wished Japan success at hosting Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai.

The meeting was also attended by Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State, and Shihab Al Faheem, UAE Ambassador to Japan.

Ishiba, in turn, conveyed his greetings to Sheikh Mohamed and expressed his hopes for the UAE’s continued development and growth.

Dr. Al Jaber reaffirmed the UAE leadership’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and advancing ties to new strategic levels.
