UAE President, Widodo inaugurate Sheikh Zayed Grand mosque

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Indonesian President Joko Widodo have inaugurated the Sheikh Zayed Grand mosque in Solo.

"I was pleased to join President Joko Widodo in Solo, Indonesia to inaugurate the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque," wrote Sheikh Mohamed on his official Twitter handle.

The mosque is named after the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

"It represents his values of peace and goodwill, reflecting the longstanding ties that exist between our two countries," Sheikh Mohamed highlighted.

The mosque is a smaller replica of Abu Dhabi's Grand mosque.

Sheikh Mohamed is in Bali to attend the G20 Summit.

Chaired by Widodo, the 17th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit will welcome heads of state and government officials from the world’s leading economies to address major global issues.
