UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received phone calls on Saturday from leaders of the UK, Germany, Greece, Italy and Pakistan to discuss the recent military escalation in the region and its impact on regional and international security.
The leaders - UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif - condemned the Iranian attacks on UAE territory and other Arab countries, describing them as violations of sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter, and highlighting the threat they pose to regional stability.
Sheikh Mohamed thanked each leader for their countries’ supportive stance towards the UAE.
All parties emphasised the urgent need for immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomatic solutions to prevent further escalation and preserve security and stability in the region.
