The UAE is stepping up its relief campaign to support Palestinians affected by the war in the Gaza Strip.

Aid collection drives will be organised in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi this weekend, as part of the 'Tarahum - for Gaza' (Compassion for Gaza) campaign, which was launched last week.

These events aim to prepare 25,000 relief packages with the support of volunteers from across the UAE, including citizens and residents, as well as public and private institutions.

The collection drive in Dubai will be held on Saturday, October 21 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Al Rimal Hall, under the supervision of Dubai Cares.

On Sunday, October 22, two events will be held. One will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, overseen by the Emirates Red Crescent.

The other event will be held at the Expo Centre in Sharjah from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm under the supervision of the Sharjah Charitable Society.

The campaign organised its first aid collection drive on October 15 at Abu Dhabi Ports Hall in ‎Mina Zayed with the participation of more than 4,500 volunteers who prepared 13,000 relief packages.

The initiative is supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent and the World Food Programme, and in coordination with the Ministry of Community Development.
