UAE issues heat alert as temperatures set to hit 46°C

Residents have been urged to avoid direct exposure to sun as temperatures are set to hit highs of 46 degree Celsius over the next six days.

It comes as the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a heat alert.

Esraa Al Naqbi, a forecaster from NCM, explains what's causing this spike in temperature.

In an advisory, NCM urged residents to maintain hydration and ensure proper ventilation in closed spaces.
