UAE welcomes 25 patients from Gaza

The 16th group of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients arrived in the UAE early on Saturday, April 27.

Departing from Al Arish International Airport in Egypt, the plane landed at Zayed International Airport, carrying 25 patients in urgent need of medical assistance, accompanied by 51 family members.

Upon landing, medical teams were on site to transfer the wounded and those in need of immediate care to hospitals for treatment, while other cases, and those accompanying them, were taken to their residence in the Emirates Humanitarian City.

Families of patients and the wounded expressed their thanks and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates, and that the UAE has always and still been the first to extend a helping hand and provide relief to the Palestinian people.

Groups have been arriving after UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan issued directives in 2023 to provide medical treatment for 1,000 injured children and 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza at UAE's hospitals.

Since the outbreak of the crisis in Gaza, the UAE has rushed to provide all forms of humanitarian, relief and aid supplies as part of the Gallant Knight 3 humanitarian operation.

The UAE has also established a 150-bed field hospital in Gaza and the Floating Hospital in Al Arish port in Egypt, equipped to provide beds for 100 patients, as well as operating rooms, intensive care units, radiology, labs, pharmacies, and medical warehouses.
