Watch: 2 caught trying to enter UAE hiding inside car bumpers

Two people have been detained by Sharjah Customs after they tried to cross into the UAE by hiding inside the rear bumpers of two cars.

Officers from Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority discovered the stowaways while scanning the two vehicles using high-tech devices.

In a video clip released by the authority, officers can be seen pulling out the bumpers away from the back of the cars to find the men hiding inside "professionally installed iron boxes".

Investigations revealed that the men did not carry any identification papers.

The two vehicles have been sent to relevant authorities for further checks.

The men and the drivers have been referred to higher authorities for legal action.
