Sharjah Police have tested the use of drones in speeding up emergency services and stopping criminal activities.

In a video shared on their official social media handle, the officers are seen using the drones to ‘foil’ a vehicle robbery attempt and ‘search’ for a car stranded in a sandy patch during a simulated exercise in Al Zahia.

A special police team are seen testing the efficacy of drones in real-life scenarios.

Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, said drones will improve operational effectiveness, efficiency and productivity.
