Residents in Abu Dhabi are being warned of sea snakes on popular beaches in the Emirate.
Taking to their official social media handles, the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi urged the public to keep their distance if they come across the creatures.
Sea snakes are often seen in low tide areas, when the temperature drops below 22°C. Although venomous, they only bite when provoked or scared.
The snakes struggle to move on land so can often look sluggish or look dead but the public are advised not to try and move them.
EAD added that if bitten, urgent medical assistance must be sought.
