Australia clinch ODI series win over India

Australia beat India by 51 runs in the second One Day International (ODI) in Sydney to take an unbeatable 2-0 series lead.

The hosts posted 389-4 and then restricted their opponents to 338-9 in 50 overs.

Steve Smith struck his second consecutive century (104 off 64 balls) to set up the series win with a game to spare.

David Warner (83), Aaron Finch (60), Marnus Labuschagne (70) and Glenn Maxwell (63 not out) smashed half-centuries for Australia.

Skipper Virat Kohli top-scored for India (89), while KL Rahul contributed 76 runs.

The third and final game of the series will be played in Canberra on December 2.
