Just six days after the end of the World Twenty20, the cricketing world has another tournament to look forward to, as the Indian Premier League (IPL) starts. Mumbai Indians host Rising Pune Supergiants in the opening match of the ninth edition. Mumbai are the reigning champions, following their resounding victory over the Chennai Super Kings in last year’s final. Meanwhile, the Supergiants are making their IPL debut, with Stephen Fleming as their coach and MS Dhoni the captain.
