Denis Shapovalov defeats Rafael Nadal for third spot

World No 14 Denis Shapovalov secured the third spot at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship after defeating Rafael Nadal 6-7, 6-3, 10-6.

Nadal, who was making his first appearance since the Washington Open in August due to a foot injury, took the first set in a tie-break before Shapovalov levelled it by taking the second set.
