Gov Games will see 35 teams from the community category participate in the latest edition of the much-anticipated sporting event.
The teams, each comprising seven players, competed with each other in 10 zones in a test of their fitness and mental readiness.
ARN News Centre spoke to Abdulla Alblooshi, founder of Desert Shield Fitness, who enrolled three very diverse teams to compete at the games.
He tells us about his experience leading the team, with "challenging" being a common thread when it comes to the physical and mental tests that the teams are put through.
Of the three teams, two qualified for the finals.
Alblooshi mentioned that His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, plays a significant role in inspiring his team and many others who take part in the event.
Marwan bin Essa, Director of Gov Games, congratulated the teams, saying that the competition promotes "sports as a lifestyle" and contributes to building a healthy community in the country.
