The Lebanese Football Federation (LFA) has announced that all football matches will resume in January 2025, following a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah.
This decision comes after a pause in September 2024, when the LFA suspended all matches due to escalating violence between Israel and Hezbollah.
The ceasefire, brokered by the U.S. and France, allowed for a return to stability in the region.
The LFA confirmed in a statement that football activities will resume next year, offering hope for the country's sports scene.
The 2024-25 Lebanese Premier League season was delayed, and Lebanon’s national football team has not played at home since 2023, holding World Cup qualifiers in Qatar and the UAE.
The situation mirrors that of Palestine, which has hosted recent home matches in Kuwait and Qatar, and Israel, which has played its Nations League home games in Hungary.
