Lewis Hamilton won his sixth Formula One drivers' championship after coming second in the US Grand Prix.

His Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas took the chequered flag in Austin, but Hamilton only needed to finish in the top-eight to secure the crown.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen came third in the race, ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

The 34-year-old Hamilton is now just one behind Michael Schumacher's record of seven world titles.
