Rory McIlroy will return to Emirates Golf Club in January, going for a record-extending fifth Hero Dubai Desert Classic title.
The 38th edition of the tournament runs from January 21 to 24.
McIlroy, the world number two, won the Masters again in April, becoming only the fourth player to win back-to-back green jackets. He joins Jack Nicklaus, Sir Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods, and now has six major titles, level with Faldo.
The Northern Irishman also helped Europe win the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black last year, and claimed his seventh Race to Dubai title.
He is the most successful player in the tournament’s history. He made his debut as a 16-year-old amateur in 2006, won his first professional title there in 2009, and added further wins in 2015, 2023 and 2024.
“I’ve always considered Dubai a second home. It’s where my professional career really started, and the Hero Dubai Desert Classic will always mean a lot to me,” McIlroy said.
Early bird tickets are on sale now at dubaidesertclassic.com.
General admission is free on Thursday and Friday with a registered ticket. Weekend tickets cost AED 85 during the early bird period, rising to AED 110 before the event and AED 135 on the day.
Children aged 17 and under, as well as companions and carers, get in free on all four days.
Tournament Town and Eat Street return with live music, family activities and food outlets, with the line-up to be announced closer to the event.
Fans are encouraged to travel by metro. Al Fardan Exchange Metro Station is at the entrance to Emirates Golf Club.
