UAE Team Emirates signs up two new riders

UAE Team Emirates has announced the addition of two new riders, signed up on deals to the end of 2024.

Felix Großschartner, the 28-year old climber is the current Austrian road race and time-trial champion and holds 6 professional victories to his name.

Großschartner said: "I‘m excited to join UAE team Emirates and I am looking forward to the challenges in the future. It is one of the best teams in the world and I am happy to be a part of it. I am sure that my qualities as a rider are an asset to the team and that I will help to achieve good results."

Tim Wellens, the 31 year-old from Sint Truiden in Belgium has a stellar palmarès with no fewer than 34 professional victories, among them 4 stage wins at Grand Tours also put pen to paper.

Wellens said, "After ten great years with my former team I decided it was time for a new challenge. I feel like I’m joining a truly global team at UAE Emirates with a really professional structure and a lot of ambition. I’m very excited to get started and be part of the squad for 2023 and beyond."

Mauro Gianetti, CEO & Team Principal, welcomed both riders, saying the Team's pleased to have both on board "as we continue to grow as a team."
