Watch: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan meets Indian cricket stars

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, met with Jay Shah, Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in Mumbai on Wednesday.

He also met with Rohit Sharma, captain of India’s Test and ODI teams, and leading cricketers Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav.

In the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to advancing global sports through strong international partnerships and highlighted the country’s role as a growing hub for major sporting events, backed by world-class infrastructure.

He also emphasised the UAE's pride in hosting the ICC headquarters in Dubai since 2005, showcasing the nation's support for international sports organisations.

Sheikh Hamdan congratulated the Indian team on their recent victory in the ICC Champions Trophy final, held at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, and noted the growing popularity of cricket in the UAE, supported by the Emirates Cricket Board.

The players spoke highly of the UAE’s top-tier facilities and sporting atmosphere, while Sheikh Hamdan reiterated the country's dedication to nurturing the growth of cricket and other sports in the country.
