The campaign follows a directive issued by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

It's being coordinated by Sharjah City Municipality in cooperation with Sharjah police and Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority.

‏The Director-General of the municipality, Thabit Al-Turaifi, said 1,514 inspections have been conducted over two weeks, during which 3,936 workers, bachelors and violators were removed from 185 homes.

A further 161 residential units were closed due to violations.

Utilities have been disconnected in 79 homes for committing several violations, including unauthorised engineering modifications and random electrical connections. A total of 169 notices have been served on other units.
