Two men who helped rescue a five-year-old boy dangling from the window of a high-rise building have been honoured by Sharjah Police.

Mohammed Rahmatullah and Adel Abdul Hafeez were honoured during a reception on Thursday hosted by the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Major-General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi and other senior officials.

The men were quick to respond to the emergency situation on Tuesday where the child was found clinging to a window ledge on the 13th floor of his residential building.

After informing the boy's father, the building's watchman Rahmatullah and resident Abdul Hafeez broke open the door of the apartment and managed to pull the child to safety.

The duo were lauded for their bravery and presence of mind by the Police.
