A minor fire has been put out at the world's tallest hotel, Gevora Hotel, located on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road.
Dubai Civil Defence confirmed that the blaze erupted around 6:30 pm on the roof of the building and was tackled in less than an hour.
Guests at the hotel were evacuated as a precautionary measure. There are no reports of any injuries.
The 356-metre (1168 feet) high Gevora Hotel opened its doors in February 2018. It took over the world’s tallest hotel tag from the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel (1,165 feet), located in the same area.
