UAE soldiers heartened by welcome home

Emirati soldiers returning from the Yemeni frontlines said that liberating Marib and the Marib Dam was a “quantum leap” in the effort to restore legitimacy to the country. This comes as the first batch of Emirati soldiers arrived back from Yemen with a second rotation deployed last week. The returning soldiers were deeply heartened by the heroes’ welcome that they received from the hundreds of well-wishers who turned out to greet them at Zayed Military City on Saturday. The soldiers said that they were honoured to be welcomed home by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as well as His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, both of whom greeted soldiers with a military salute and shook hands with each one of them during the celebrations.
